Our family has a pair of 2005 Mazdas and both cars needed new cabin air filters. The dealer price is about $60, and as I misunderstood something, I thought I needed THREE units. I was glad to find Wix filters for a third of the dealer price, shipped! Once they arrived, I installed them easily in minutes.
Note: The filters come as two pieces, and both are used in a 2005 MPV or RX-8. However, the two halves are considered one filter. I misunderstood the Mazda tech when he told me I needed two filters for the van (I didn’t ask about the RX-8). So basically, I wound up with one spare filter, ready to go into whichever car needs it first.

This filter comes as 2 rectangular filters, is made well and didn’t cost much – easy to replace if you know how to remove the glove box – works for me.

Please note these are not Mazda OEM filters.
Bought this as an alternative cabin air filter rather than one from the factory because of the cost. Works great however reason for 3 stars is because these do not fit properly in my Mazda RX8 cabin. Closing the lid was a little tight and had to snip off a little of the filter’s corner to close my cabin filter box. Other than that it’s no different than any other air cabin filters.

What can I say… I have a problem with the a/c blower motor burning out in my RX-8 and the dealer has at various times blamed a dirty air cabin filter. The Mazda brand is three times as expensive but suspiciously looks identical to this product. To keep the dealer happy, I put these in before the summer heat increases the need (and air) for cooling. So now the dealer gets to replace blower fans and cannot blame the filter.
As for filtering the air, I do find it dirty at the end of the year, so it appears to be doing its job. It is not a odor filter just a basic particulate filter of the non-hepa variety.

Fits my 2003 Mazda mpv perfectly. Is a pack of two filters. A single filter would not fit past the metal bar in front of the filter housing.

Web site said “This fits your 2002 Mazda MPV”. It does not, and is not like the one installed by the dealer. It maybe a difference between the versions of the MPV for that year (with or without rear heater), but in any case it does not fit.

Vehicle: 2005 Mazda RX8
First and foremost, change your cabin air filter @ a minimum every two years. If you park close to trees or underneath trees a lot then I recommend every year. They are not so expensive that they can’t be changed annually (in the spring before the pollen starts to fall) that way you’re sniffing good clean air throughout the remainder of the year. Just my two cents. I posted a picture of what happens when you neglect to change the cabin air filter. If you suffer from allergies and you don’t change this filter then you are doing yourself an injustice. Also, if you transport pets in your vehicle it clogs the filters faster b/c of their hair and dander (I don’t like pets so no problem for me).
Anyway, this WIX filter seems to be of good quality and according to the box it filters out all the nasty things that we don’t like to breathe in. Of course the airflow through the vents increased b/c now there are nice clean filters installed. Buy with confidence if you trust the WIX brand; if not, buy something else that you prefer.
