So I purchased this car mount because I use a Yansoo for one of my cars and normally it has a suction cup mount, but with the summer heat, it would not stay put at all. I figured I could buy this and measured the adapters to make sure one of them would fit properly, and it did! The problem though is that even though the adapter fits, it’s not snug enough that any decent amount of shaking, like going over a speed bump, shakes the camera off of the mount entirely.
It’s really annoying, but I think I can fix it with crazy glue or adding a bit more material to the joint so that it has a more snug and tighter fit.

I had purchased this kit because the suction cup that came with the dashcam, although very strong and stable couldn’t take the southern heat. After a few days the cam would fall down. So.. this kit was my next attempt at mounting to the rearview mirror. I actually like this position better as it is more centered in the front window. It was a little tricky tightening the screws with my not so skinny fingers but once I got them tight it hasn’t moved since I installed it just shy of 3 weeks ago today as I write this. There are so many pieces that I assume are good for different manufacturers of cameras and items. it took me a few minutes to go through all of them to find the one that fit mine perfectly …. as if it came with the cam itself.

I decided to get a dashcam mount for my Nexar Beam because the suction mount would fall off on sunny days. I wanted a mount that can securely attach to my rearview mirror since I can run the cable through the same hole as my mirror. This mount arrived quickly and had plenty of different fitments for various types of dash cams.
Upon opening the package, I noticed that the pieces were not of the best quality. Most parts are made from plastic, and the plastic looked worn and dirty. I tried to use a Clorox wipe to remove some of the dirt, but you can still see the uneven texture. Despite this, the mount is still secure and does its job well.
Installation was very straightforward. First, find the screw and mount fitment needed. I used the short screws and mounted the clamp to my mirror first, making sure to properly align the included silicone strip to protect my mirror. Then, I attached my Nexar Beam to attachment that required a pin and bolt (I’m unsure what it is called). Finally, I turned on my dashcam and streamed the video to make sure that I can tighten the mount to get the right camera angle. I decided to tilt the mount upwards so that my camera can obstruct my windshield a little bit less. Finally, plug in your dashcam and tuck the wires.
Overall, I decided this mount was “good enough” to keep. I would like a cleaner, newer looking mount, but this one seems secure enough to not return.

Avoid this dash camera mount at all costs. Mine came with zero bolts for mounting on my rearview…. Thought maybe the other piece it came with would hold it on the dash… Nope, all the pieces are super cheaply made, and none of the connector pieces actually held my Cobra dash camera stable. Find a different mount to save yourself some time. It even says, “frequently returned item”, AFTER YOU ALREADY BUY IT.

I use an older dash camera that didn’t come with a permanent windshield mount and the suction cup was not working out. This kit is perfect and I actually prefer it to the windshield mount. Very secure and comes with plenty of attachments to fit various cameras.

I was very dissapointed with the use of the suction devices because sooner or later they would fell down and sooner or later, you yould have to replace them. So this option that can be attached to your rear view mirror was the best to do the job. It is very simple to be assambled but before trying to install it, my advice is to try to assamble the pieces in advance in a comfortable place where you can make sure what is the best option to try in the final execution. There are two kind of screws (long or short) to be used. If you choose the long ones without really requiring them, you might have issues with the dashcam. I didn’t have enough space to install them, so I decided to use the nots close to the ceiling of the car. You might use a rag to cover down the space where it will be installed, other way you might loose the nuts while installing them. Net net, it’s very simple, but preparation could improve and facilitate the installing experience

This was a good solution for an Insignia dashcam whose suction-cup mount started falling off in warm weather, then eventually stopped holding at all. This universal mount came with many adapters, and one fit the Insignia dashcam perfectly. It was easy to attach to the rear-view mirror and has been stable. All in all a great value.
