Assemblies are perfect for my sons 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ Limited.
Parts arrived safely, 1 lug stud poked a hole through MFG box, but not through amazons packaging.
Solid feel to product, fit perfect. Wish they didn’t have to get dirty, :D. Recommend, as quality (made by / in) is > price.
Decided to invest in SKF over others based on reviews on Cherokeeforum.com.
More expensive yes, but I’d rather not change bearings every 6 months let alone before say 100k miles.
Used these to replace original stock from MFG, they were still functioning well, but had to replace U-joints, bolts, dust plate, so yeah….gear puller also separated spindle from bearing housing.(stud plate rusted to rotor)
Since the Jeep is still young at ~106k miles, I have not added aftermarket off roading parts other than replacing: starter, battery, drum brake cylinder and line, front shocks, sway bar / end link bushings, misc maintenance. Only stating this for those who are new to Jeeps.
If you have time, tools & extra money, mind as well change your ball joints, control arm bushings while you have it apart, but only if they are due in the near future. Will probably need an alignment if you do.

These are no longer made in Slovakia, straight from CHINA. They work, but I don’t understand why companies keep moving their manufacturing to CHINA. I only bought these b/c Timken started making their hub bearings in in CHINA. Ohh wells…

Great fit and finish for a 1999 Jeep XJ Cherokee with CAST rotors. Not for the composite rotors.
The listing on Amazon shows that the country of origin is Slovakia, which was a selling point to me, as almost all the rest of the hub bearings available seem to have shifted to manufacturing in China. However…. the box it came in says “Made in China”… so we shall see how it goes. hopefully SKF has a good handle on their processing controls and quality. 4 stars so far, would have been 5 but the listing error is irritating.

Up until this past week I had had zero issues with these uni bearings on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Last week I started to get a vibration from the front left of the vehicle. I had driven it to work that day and barely made it home. Issue I found was two of the wheel studs had snapped off.
I do not have the exact mileage I got out of the bearing assemblies in July of 2018 and they probably set around the garage until September. This is a third vehicle for us so it is not being driven daily either. I would guess less than 7k miles on them.
I have not taken stuff apart yet to diagnose whether they were not pressed in far enough or what exactly happened. I used the factory lug nuts on the factory wheels and tightened them with the factory folding lug wrench. I don’t think I could have over tightened them.

Just installed this in my XJ. I can’t yet speak to it’s longevity but did want to point out a few things.
First, full disclosure, this part is listed as fitting a 2000-2001 XJ with full cast rotors. This is NOT the application I’m using it for.
The reason I’m writing this though, is that I’ve used lots of different brand Uni’s for my rig. I have WJ knuckles on a 98 XJ D30, with explorer sporttrac rotors. Due to differences in hat heights and caliper spacing, The 01 uni is recommended for this setup.
What I noticed though, is that all the other brands of Uni’s I’ve used that were supposed to be for 2001 XJ’s, stuck out farther than the SKF unit. The SKF sticks out 1/2″ less than any other uni I’ve run. This is actually what I was hoping for anyway, but I’m not sure what the CORRECT stick out is for an 01. Just be aware that this part is 1/2″ shorter from mating surface to mating surface, than many other Uni’s. This was to accommodate the thicker full cast rotors used in 2000-2001.
Aside from the stick out, this uni seems much beefier than Timken units. The overall diameter of the hub body is about 1/4″ larger, and body runs the full length from flange to flange (whereas the Timkens have a 1/2″ gap between the hub and wheel mating surface). The SKF also has much stronger, and 1/2″ longer wheel studs (to accommodate the cast rotors).
Part is stamped as made in Slovakia.
I’ll come back to this review after 6-12 months if the uni’s start to show signs of failure. Typically I’ve been getting 3-6 months out of the Timken units lately.
