I was in a massive bind as I was in the middle of replacing the transmission fluid on my 2014 VW tiguan and realized that I forgot to purchase the transmission fluid fill adapter. This baby saved the day, amazon had it to me within 1 day and I was able to fill the transmission oil pan. Its solid and does the job, I highly recommend this part.

Works perfect for 2003 Ford Thunderbird Roadster, to check the transmission fluid since the tranny is sealed there is no dipstick so using this little guy works great you can gauge if it has too much or not enough, then manually fill the tranny fluid with a hand pump or let some drain out if there is too much fluid, that’s what we do anyway, and so far so good!

I really loved it, it was very inexpensive compared to what it was at a transmission shop. Most auto parts stores do not carry that, and it works very well. It is a must for a sealed transmission.

Used this to flush the MERCON V on the 5R55S on my coworker’s Mountaineer. Threads in and seals well. Was compatible with the red tubing on my red and black parts store fluid hand pump.

I work on all my own vehicles. If you need to add trans fluid to a 2002 and later Ford Explorer (Maybe others also but the Explorer for sure) you’ll need this. I think a 1/4″ pipe nipple would work also just make sure the threads are right. I’m still trying to figure out why Ford thought it was a good idea to make a vehicle with no transmission dipstick but they did. So you’ll need this and a good suction gun to force the fluid up into the trans. I used it two days ago and it works great, does the job perfect.

The fill adapter was as advertised, worked as expected, only complaint, besides needing to purchase, was the price. Could probably find something at Home Depot, that would work the same, for $2.00, but was in a hurry, didn’t really know the specs, and a little concern of getting something slightly wrong size, wrong thread, and damage the plug, which would mean another order, another delay, and probably insanely priced. Really needed to get the Explorer back on the road quick. The tube on the pump I purchased was too small diameter, had to rig an adapter, which went pretty slick. Found a metal tube, warmed up the vinyl a little, forced it on. Had some tubing that fit over this fill adapter, just needed a few inches, my hose adapter made a pretty tight fit, but used a cable tie anyway, wasn’t sure about pressure. It was still a very messy process, really struggling to keep the language clean here. Just another Ford special tool, for ‘that’ box, which I hope to never, ever, need again.

I recommend using the pump in the link with a clean and dry 1 Gal. Arizona Iced Tea bottle. The bottle is clear and you can mark a line for each quart of trans fluid you put in.
