When I used this product on my favorite pair of brown leather boots a few weeks ago, I saw an instant and noticeable improvement in the overall look of the boots. My boots had lost their original luster, seemed to be a little bit scuffed around the toes, and in some parts, they were beginning to look more gray than brown. I made the decision to test it out on an old leather baseball glove before putting it on my boots. After years of usage, the leather on the glove had gotten rigid, so I was eager to see whether the solution would help soften the leather. In my opinion, this mink oil performed an excellent job; after applying a single layer and allowing it to dry for a short period of time, the glove became more flexible and pleasant to wear on my hand. Additionally, it seemed to bring back some of the rich, warm hue that had lightened over the course of the years, giving the glove an appearance that was clean and well-maintained. Even though it had a slightly thick consistency, it spread well provided that steady strokes were used. There is a lot of value in a little amount, and it was satisfying to see how rapidly it was absorbed. Another issue that I have seen is that if you use an excessive amount of it all at once, it may leave behind a tiny residue. In the beginning, I had a negative experience with the extra product that caused my boots to have a greasy feel. However, I ultimately discovered that the problem could be resolved by polishing it completely with a clean cloth. If you are in a hurry, you should be aware that you could need a little bit more time to buff off any remaining shine. This did require some additional patience on your part, however.

This is a great product that is easy to use. It even comes with all the tools you need to apply the mink oil. It doesn’t come with a bag or something to keep all of the items in, but that is the only way I can see this being improved.

Very happy with this. It helped to bring my leather chelsea boots back to life. Mink oil is a great conditioner for helping to restore old leather or “break in” new leather and protect it against drying out and cracking. It doesn’t waterproof but it does definitely protect.
Comparing this to a jar of mink oil purchased to protect and break in a Brooks leather bike saddle, the quality is the same and this costs less than 1/4 the price (considering quantity in the equation).
This is not a shoe polish (though it does bring some shine back to shoes, bags, etc.) but a protectant that’ll help leather last for years.

I love that this kit comes with everything you need to spruce up your leather goods. The kit comes with a brush, sponge and the mink oil. I followed the instructions listed on the product page, and allowed the oil to absorb overnight before wearing my footwear. I was so shocked at the results! My footwear all looks brand new! The oil soaked into my shoes and softened the leather, making my boots and shoes feel more comfortable while also giving them a subtle, natural shine.
