Item arrived quickly and appears to be of good quality. Installation was a bit confusing at first (hence the 4 stars), but I figured it out. I could do the install myself, which was a plus. Once installed, the product seemed to operate just fine and did the job like it’s predecessor. Price was also right. I am satisfied and have recommended to other people. .

This worked perfect for my 2010 Lexus IS350C. A previous comment mentioned smaller shaft of device. True. But is has enough pressue to use the smaller shaft. Hatch starts to lift on its own about 3/4 way up and hold trunk lid open. Great.

They were incredibly easy to install. It took us about 10 minutes. We did need to prop open the trunk for safety, but that’s all. It opens so easily now I can’t believe it compared to before. The hardtop convertible has a very heavy trunk. Now it lifts much easier. Really glad I bought them

These fit perfectly in my 2011 Lexus IS350C trunk. Very easy installation. Removal of the OEM lifts was straightforward (I used a rubber mallet to gently tap out the top part of the lift and the bottom removed itself effortlessly) and the lifts from Lift Support Depot easily snapped firmly in place. All told, it took about 5 to 10 minutes to replace. And the trunk does open much easier now.

I’m in Lexus convertible trunk-lid heaven after spending 8 minutes replacing the old, original and useless support struts. Me or my spouse would hold up the trunk lid while the other puts in or removes groceries. But not any more!
YES, they are NOT exactly the same diameter lift struts as the original (OEM) but they are correct length and the correct pressure to hold the lid open.
NO, they do not make the lid lighter. It is still very heavy when you unlock the trunk, lift it for the first 10″ with all your muscle (JUST LIKE WE DID WHEN WE FIRS BOUGHT THE CAR) then this new strut lifts it the rest of the way up, almost by itself and it stays up with very good force and pressure. No more worries about it starting come down on your head. I think some people have bought their lexus 250c convertible used, and assume that new struts will make the lid pop all the way up with no muscle on your part. But we bought this new, and it ALWAYS pops unlocked and remains closed until we lift the heavy lid about 10-12 inches then the structs kick in and help lift and keep it up until we pull it down. That is how it has always worked.
This product installed easily. Open the trunk and put a pole in to hold it up or have a friend do it. The old struts have a black, “u” shaped metal or plastic ring holding each ball joint against the ball on the car. It’s easy to find the video online of how it’s done. You have to pop out or pop open the u shaped ring on each end. Then I twist left and right a bit to loosen it up and I push it outward with the palm of my hand and suddenly both ends pop out and I’ve removed the old strut. One of the bottom rings popped completely out and into the trunk area, but its tiny and won’t rattle, so no worries if it pops off, but the others just half pealed off and stayed attached to the old strut. New strut pops onto the ball joints. Don’t pull out the small rings, its not needed for installation, just when you remove and old one. I had to hold the trunk open to the max to get the 2nd strut in because the first one was so strong.
I’m very happy with the quality of the materials. It has the same sturdy metal feel of the old strut, it’s just a narrower cartridge so it looks thinner but does the job and makes the lid stay up and secure. And it makes the lid much lighter to lift after the first few inches.

Took all of 10 minutes to change out the struts. Perfect replacement for the OEM struts. Didn’t realize how bad the old ones were until I got the new ones. Very easy to change. All that was needed was a screwdriver to pop the old retainer clips
