My husband restored a Mercedes Benz that had an Aquapel sticker affixed to the windshield. Out of curiosity I did some researched and saw it was a product by PPG, which is supplier of the auto body paints our car shop using to paint vehicles. I read all the great reviews and decided I had to try it since I was already using RainX and that only last approximately 3 weeks at the most.
I am so happy I gave this product a try because I am hooked now. We have four vehicles in our family and I happily applied them in all. I went on YouTube and watched the video on how to correctly apply it. You really do not need the Aquapel Pre Cleaning Wipes. Just make use a professional strength window cleaner (preferably aerosol can type) and that the windshield is clean of all dirt and debris. When applying the treatment, make sure not to make contact with the car’s paint, molding or windshield wiper. Wipe solution with paper towels until the haze is gone. Go over the driver’s and passenger point of view one more time and wipe clean.
Treatment can last several months depending on use and weather conditions. Repels rain, snow and dirt. I just love watching as the beads of rain go sliding right off my windshield without turning my wipers on. I told my husband we should consider doing this service at our shop because customers would be so pleased with the results like I was.
One treatment was plenty enough to treat my Mercedes Benz Wagon front and back windshield.
In the video it was raining pretty steady and I did not have to use my wipers once. The beads of water just slid right up the windshield with the force of the wind.

Great stuff works really well. But don’t let it dry on the windows. It’s pretty hard to get off if you do.

A detail shop recommended this over a year ago and I’ve been loving it ever since. After using it for more than half a year it still works great! Rain-X is slightly better on a fresh application, but only for the first few days. Aquapel lasts for MONTHS without reapplication. With Rain-X I was always afraid to use my windshield wipers in fear that I would wipe away the protection. With Aquapel, it doesn’t matter. I still use wipers for the misty and low speed stuff, but it has no effect on the protection/water beading. Car washes? Gunk from trees? Ash from fires? Bird droppings? All no problem! Apply it once and you’re set for at least a year. The only reason I’m buying more is because a rock broke my old windshield.

Living in a climate that brings along cold winter blizzards and the occasional freezing rain has made me fully appreciate the anti-water repellency this product provides. After applying this product (one application can serve the windshield and all the windows of a compact sedan), I was astounded by how well it helps with visibility in driving conditions under rain and snow. Yes, snow. With Aquapel on, snow now magically avoids the windshield when driving and I find that I use my windshield wipers a lot less when it snows.
One of the best features of this product is it makes scraping ice off the windows of my car a lot easier. With a quick swipe of my scraper, I can easily remove ice off the windows and windshield of my car. I first thought that removing the ice would also take off the Aquapel coating but it seems to stay on. Even after removing a lot of ice during the winter months, the windshield still beads water. The product is advertised to last 6 months – so far so good.
I highly recommend this product to all road warriors like me (I drive 2-3 hours every day for work on highways) because not only does it help with visibility in rain and snow, but it makes ice removal a lot easier – saving you precious time in your daily winter commutes.

Hello,
i have to specify that i used this product last year and i was happy with the result, but i didn’t know if what was happening was due to the Rain X, that i normally always use, or Aquapel.
Well. this year i gave it a special try: on the Windshield of my Car i put Acquapel and on the back Glass i put Rain X.
Next Morning there was ice everywhere, but with one difference: on the Windshield with Rain X the Ice was sticking, and once scraped the Rain X was inexistent, instead on the side with Aquapel, i removed the ice with one swoop of my arm!
To compare it to Rain X… this product is not as Water Repellent as Rain X as soon as you put it on, BUT while Rain X loses is repelling power in a matter of few weeks, this Aquapel sticks to the glass for several months.
!!! BUT THE BEST PART IS THAT IT DOESN’T ALLOW ICE TO STICK TO THE GLASS EITHER !!!
So basically, here is my advise:
if you don’t have a Garage and leave your Car out in Winter… put Acquapel on your Windshield and on your side Windows and when you get to your can in the morning, the ice will fall off just by pushing it down with your hand.
if you are looking for a very powerful water repellent because you like for the water to just wisk away immediately even at low speeds, you better off putting Rain X on your Windshield once a month, but if you are OK using your windshield wipers every once in a while, with Acquapel you do a treatment and you are good to go for an entire season.
PERSONALLY: i treat my Glass at the beginning of winter, around the beginning of November, and i am fine all the way though the freezing season
I WOULD RACCOMAND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE WHO PARKS HIS CAR OUTSIDE
REGARDS

Best windshield rain repellent made! Great deal here, too.
Wipe it on the windshield, spreading it as evenly as possible and let it dry on. Don’t buff it off! That’s what the directions say, but that is not the best method.
Lasts for about 2-3 months. I can see soo much better than other drivers in pouring rain! While they are put-putting along, I can just weave carefully through the blinded drivers and arrive safely without the stress that they endure.
Beats Rain-X by a mile! It took me 5 years of owning my new car before I ever changed a wiper blade… They are almost obsolete!
