Flimsy would not stay on anything I clipped them on.

It has a good grip, holds phone in place. Can be used in just about anywhere.

The unit is well constructed. The supplies Phillips “L” wrench is useless. The clamps barely open wide enough to hold my Samsung Galaxy Note S10 Ultra with an Otter Defender case on it. The clamps pads interfere with the side buttons so I have to hold it low. I tightened the screws as far as I dare but the weight of the phone causes it to turn. Maybe some detents would solve that issue.
The gripper pads do not provide enough adhesion and the whole thing eventually slides off. I have it mounted on the right side of the dash on my 2020 Subaru Outback. I tried to use it on my 06 Silverado but I had recently applied ArmorAll to the dash and it is too slippery for the gripper pad. The clamp has a strong spring so be careful. It will bite you.
I considered returning it but decided to keep it.

Poorly designed without longevity in mind. If you find that miracle spot in your car to set it up, it will likely move or possibly snap off or in half in due time. The build is poorly thought out and I wish I had sent it back before the return window closed.
I struggled for 20 minutes trying to find a decent spot in my car to set this. The clip is so poorly designed that I had to struggle a bit to finally attach it to the only spot it works best (on the dash 2 o’clock above the steering wheel) and I could see the spring+clip slowly building up the tension to snap back off at me. Sure, it might be able to clip onto the sun visor — or as the image here shows — your REARVIEW MIRROR WHY, but those are pretty out of your vision on the road and have a higher likelihood that your eyes will be off the road for glancing “too long” to just look at your GPS for a split second. It doesn’t fit above the vents or other areas of my dash. The clip requires a bit more elbow grease to open, but also a specific surface and friction in order to stay secure– there’s nothing to fasten except that it’s clipped on and you hope for the best. You wouldn’t want your phone to fly in your face when you drive over a bump, but that thing will knock you out with the slightest impact.
I’ve been looking for, apparently, a unicorn of car mounts. With all the bad products I’ve been coming across on Amazon, I’m tempted to crowdfund my own company.

I bought this to use on a 2014 Acura MDX with navigation because it doesn’t have Android Auto navigation so I have to use my phone and prop it up. I don’t like glass mounted suction with large phones because as the car travels, the arm that holds the phone shakes and shimmies making it difficult to read. So I bought this thinking I could attach it somewhere useful. Unfortunately, everywhere I tried to attached it (dash over center console, vanity mirror think above my head – it just blocked or was not in a usable area. I really want something I can mount towards the center of the dash so a passenger can help enter addresses for navigation.
I finally decided on the dash area by the navigation screen, off to the left. It was a pretty good fit, though getting a cable plugged into my phone while it was in the cradle was someone of a challenge and I had to rotate the phone slightly off center to fit properly. I used it for about 36 hours then took the clip off of the dash. It left an imprint. Took about 10 mins but the imprint vanished. So the clip is very strong – and it has to be to hold on – that’s a positive, but the Acura dash is padded somewhat, and I’d rather not deface the car to make this thing work, so I marked off one start for that, and only for that.
I decided not to return it as I may have something I can use it for in the future, but for everyday use, it’s a non-started for me strictly to protect the dash. It’s grip was tight and perfect otherwise for holding a Google Pixel 4 (non-XL) model.

Probably the best phone holder I’ve bought. Holds phone well and doesn’t fall off. Clip is very strong and holds onto the dashboard securely. It’s not a flush fit based on the shape of my dashboard, but works great.

I’ve had this for over 18 months now and finally decided I should leave some feedback. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max in an average case and the mount is in a ‘17 RAV4 on the dash. After adjusting the pivot tightness, it was too loose for a big phone, I’ve had zero issues with this aside from wear and tear on the cushions.
The grip/hold on the phone has stayed firm this whole time too, found out the hard way when I accidentally put the grips over my volume and power button. The grip on the dash is still as strong as the day I got it too.
If you haven’t figured out the easy in/out trick for mounting your bigger phones, put one side into the cushions, open the rest of the way, and it should slide in. Then do the opposite to take it out, open it until you can take one side out and you’re golden.
I’ve gone through a lot of different styles of phone holders, even variations of this type, for my vehicle and this is by far the best & the only one I’ve recommended to friends and family.

Secured well but two hands needed to place in holder and to release. Overall satisfied

Works great in many configurations!

I have a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. I bought a vent-clip phone holder and it didn’t work with the vertical slats. I bought a vacuum stick-on holder and after a while it wouldn’t hold (and was wobbly besides). I tried ANOTHER stick-on and the arm was too long and wobbly and when I gave up and tried to remove it, it was nigh on impossible. And both of those blocked my vision of the time and mileage readouts. There just aren’t a lot of good places on my car to use a phone holder.
BUT THIS ONE IS PERFECT. Clips on a lot of places and is steady and doesn’t wiggle. It folds down if you don’t want to use or you can simply unclip it. Love it.
