It’s just an air filter, but it’s a direct fit and installed as it should without issues. Just a heads up: If you’re replacing your OEM filter, you might notice this EPAuto filter doesn’t have the fabric mesh on the underside, just the pleats. That’s ok. I did a little research and the variation of the filter with the fabric mesh is marketed for “cold climates.” This isn’t a concern in my corner of the country. If you’re living in a cold climate, you might consider looking for the filter with the fabric, such as the Mann C35 154/1.

Installed this air filter in my late 2008 Audi A3 2.0T to replace my OEM (Mann) filter. Installation is quite easy and the filter slides in place without problem, although I did have to play a bit with the cover of the air filter box to get it properly seated with the new filter in place. The filter looks to be of good quality although it is hard to say if the paper used is the same quality and as effective at filtering as the OEM one. I did notice that the EPauto filter has slightly fewer paper folds than the original. Also, for what it’s worth, the original OEM filter has two strips of glue running the length of the underside of the filter (I presume to keep the paper folds in position) while the EPauto filter only has a single glue strip (same as on the top). Neither this filter nor my original has the foam padding (pre filter) on the underside of the filter

Good quality. See the pictures compared with the OEM Wix filter that comes with my 2016 VW Passat. The wix in the pictures has about 20K miles on it. Not too bad but I decided to replace it.
From the photos, you can see that the EPAuto one is almost exactly the same as the OEM filter. It is made of quality material and fits perfectly. Everything is the same except for the price.
EPAuto recommended 12K miles filter change interval, although VW dealer says their OEM one may last for 60K miles. I personally wouldn’t go that far. I would rather but this filter at a much cheaper price and replace it more regularly.

Good quality. I’m not a mechanically inclined person but it was easy to change this filter. Tip: I’d advise not to use a screwdriver with a magnetic bit when opening the engine filter case in your vehicle, my bit fell off into the engine bay. ( It was my only option unfortunately!)
I feel like it will hold up very well. Perfect fit! I would buy another.

So funny story, I’ve had my car about five years… Driven it about 70,000 miles in those five years and it just dawned on me about six months ago, I’ve never actually change the air filter… Are usually to clean it out oil change places and say I’ll do it later because I know that it’s extremely easy and cheaper to do it on your own and would forget and forget…
After I replaced it, there were a couple of times I recall my head hitting the head rest because I punch the gas and got a little more oomph than I remembered having
Not a bad thing, but The moral is, change it when you change your air filter’s, and at this price you can order a half dozen of them and keep them in your garage

The quality surpasses those from Walmart and the exact fit is a joy…. will order from this site in the future

I was slightly hesitant to buy one of these, as it lacks the foam pre-filter present on the “exact replacement” filters, but the price was unbeatable. As soon as it was installed, I noticed my car was much more responsive to the throttle. Better performance and a slight uptick in fuel mileage. While having the foam pre-filter is highly recommended for wet and snowy weather, this filter should be fine for the warm/dry months of the year. Per recommendations, you should change your air filter every 10,000-12,000 miles. On my original-equipment filter, the paper pleats were clean, but the foam pre-filter was pretty dirty.
UPDATE 7/28/18 – After slightly over 5,000 miles, I have noticed a slight drop in performance and a noticeable drop in fuel mileage. Checked the filter and found it was rather dirty. Fortunately, they’re cheap, but not cheap enough to be replacing every 5,000 miles. I’m buying another for the rest of the Summer/early Fall, but will go back to the higher quality filters from here on out.

Good fit, the old one had a gauze type layer on the bottom which the replacement did not but do not think it will impede performance.
