Connector probably works with older models Mercedes, but is easily modifiable (cut-out the extra plastic and easily secured with pigtail to my connector. Worked like a charm to bypass the faulty XM Satellite Radio receiver and get my sound working again! Thank you for a really great, inexpensive solution to a HUGE design problem with Mercedes

These jumpers are great to have on-hand for doing MOST-bus repairs or retrofits. You can easily reconfigure the jumpers into an extension cable, or pop the clips out and remove the fiber-optic cable if you simply need the connectors. I’ve been very happy with the quality and they are a perfect fit. Please note that the connectors are labeled with arrows for “in” and “out” as I show in the photos. I’ve used these connectors when doing digital instrument cluster retrofits in MK6 and MK7 Golfs and have been very satisfied.

If you own pretty much any modern German vehicle you should have one if not multiples of these. Couldn’t have diagnosed a bad satellite radio module without this. Plugged it in and the radio system came back to life. Perfect fit for all optical connections on a 2012 A8. seems to be great quality. I may just leave it in and not bother with replacing the module! If the connector doesn’t fit your model I believe you can unpin the connector and make it work for just about any application.

Good quality fiber optic loopback cable with standard connectors. Fits many vehicles. Fiber cable is not protected, you may want to put it into ribbed plastic conduit to avoid accidental damage, especialy when you use it in tight places. The loop works well, was tested on a BMW.

The MMI System in my car would not stay on. I placed these optic loops on the radio amplifier in the trunk and the system came back on line. So now I know the radio amplifier needs to be replaced and I have all my other functions working till then.

My 2008 Mercedes Benz “Command” center Quit one day !!! Oh yeah, it just did Not come on at all. No Radio, No CD Player(s), Nothing !!! So I thought I will just disconnect the Car Battery for a while (A Couple of Hours) and “Maybe” it will work again ??? NO such luck !!! The best place to “RUN” to is You-Tube and Yes there it was !!! The answer in a Video on the Failure of the Mercedes “Command Center” as they call it. As it turned out with my Car, the navigation DVD player stopped working and YES, LO and Behold, the Super Intelligent Mercedes People designed this system to Completely fail (Shut Down) whenever one of the Sub-components, Located in Different areas of the Car fails !!!! This Fiber Optic “By-Pass” “Loop” did the trick when I suspected that My (“ANCIENT SCHOOL”) Technology Navigation “Device” the DVD Player in the Trunk Area stopped working and I just used the one By-Pass loop, plugged it in and it “Returned” All other things right away, Like Radio, and my Car CD Player(s), etc,etc !!! Thank you Amazon and your Suppliers for Great Products, Great Prices and Super Great Shipping, Always !!! I am a Mechanic of Days Long Gone By !!!
