I’m using this in a DIY power bank. It’s very convenient that a wired harness is included and inconvenient that the charger requires an odd sized hole. However, it’s well constructed, works well and charges quickly.

While this is labeled as waterproof, it’s more *water-resistant* – fine for most vehicle and marine applications, but not something you’d want fully exposed to the elements without extra sealing. A dab of silicone around the edges during installation will go a long way in keeping moisture out.
Installation is straightforward: red to power, black to ground. If tapping directly from the battery, a fuse is a must to protect the wiring. Many fuse blocks already have fused power tap points, but if you’re running your own line, make sure the fuse is sized correctly for the wire gauge. If you don’t know what that means, look it up or ask someone who does – fires have started from incorrect fuse placement.
The 27mm hole size is odd and doesn’t translate cleanly to inches. Suppose you don’t have the exact drill bit, undersize the hole and file it to fit. Overshooting the hole size could make installation tricky.
Performance-wise, everything checks out. Voltages stay within acceptable parameters, and both 12V and 24V systems are supported. This makes it a great choice for various vehicles, from cars and trucks to golf carts and boats. The on/off switch is useful for setups where the charger is wired to a constant power source, preventing battery drain when not in use.
I built a portable charging station using this, equipped with two radios and two searchlights. With power pole connectors pre-installed in my vehicles, I can drop the charger in, plug it in, and have a dedicated power hub ready to go.
For those replacing an existing cigarette lighter, check the diameter of the original hole – you may need to enlarge it slightly. Some installations may also require swapping the included ring terminals for larger ones if larger battery terminals are used.
This is a solid charger with a good mix of USB-A and USB-C ports, making it great for vehicles, RVs, boats, and DIY power setups. Just plan for the installation, and it’ll serve you well.

good add on for you car, motorcycle or boat! I find I dont need a cigar lighter socket for really anything. So I love having this instead. It works well and charges my phone well. I like how easy it is to use and install is not difficult at all. Looks good and works good.

This USB socket is a very nice example of a versatile and well-made unit for use in a variety of applications. I’m retrofitting this into a 12v outlet in the truck to gain a permanent charging source, and I’m 100% pleased with the entire assembly.
The socket itself is very nicely made of a heavy molded plastic, and incorporates a smooth rubber fitting to cove the front when not in use. The installation is as simple as properly connecting the supplied leads to a +/- voltage source and fitting the socket appropriately with the supplied nut. The leads come equipped with an inline fuse as well, which is a huge safety feature…never, EVER omit this in your installation! I’ve seen cars go up in flame without such proper over-current protection.
The socket lights up crisp and bright, and all the charging ports work as they should. The power button is great too, as it provides a way to turn it off when it’s connected to a permanent power source.
It’s nice to have a selection of USB-A and USB-C ports also, as I have a variety of things I may want to charge that accept both of these. Furthermore, the inclusion of the USB-A means that I’ll always have an option with any typical charging cord.
Altogether, the fit and finish of this is great, the features are great, and it looks great. This is a winner of a product.

Perfect permanent replacement for the old cigarette lighter outlet. I don’t smoke so this helped with charging phones and iPads. I like the idea of an on/off switch, when it’s not in use!

I love playing with 12v electrical projects. I own an older Jeep Wrangler, it’s my toy and a platform for many other toys. I love upgrading it, and my favorite upgrades are the ones that add creature comforts. I don’t know what it is about charging ports that makes a vehicle feel premium, but if you have charging ports available it makes your car feel very high end. I already had a USB outlet in my Jeep, but I’m always looking for upgrades, so when I saw this one I had to try it.
It arrived in a plain box and contained the USB outlet and a wiring harness.
Installation is pretty easy. You run the red to power, black to ground, and install the outlet in a hole cut to size. In my Jeep I gutted the factory cigarette outlet and used the space to hold an outlet.
This is a nice outlet! I like that it has a toggle switch, and that it’s a physical switch instead of the capacitive ones. My previous one has a switch that if you just barely brush it it’s toggled, so having this physical one is nice. It charges quickly and the backlighting makes it easy to find the outlet in the dark.
Overall I’m very happy with this outlet and look forward to getting a lot of use out of it.
