So the switch itself seems to be good, but I’m a little confused about the items that came with it.
It comes with two bars that can be bolted to the terminals, if needed. The bars are 3-1/8″x3/4″. They have holes on each end. One hole is large enough to fit on the terminal posts, which means they can accommodate a M10 or 3/8″ bolts. The actual terminal on the switch is threaded as M10-1.5, BTW. However, the hole on the other side is only large enough for an M8 bolt. They did provide a single M8-1.25×15 bolt. It fits in the positive battery terminal they provided and they also gave you a single positive battery cable clamp.
The pieces let you create the construct in my 5th pic. I guess that is the use case they are thinking you will use it for. However, I will terminate my cables with 3/8″ lugs and screw directly to the switch terminals. The fewer connections, the better.
The switch body has a removable door on each side so you can route wires in/out as necessary.
The confusing part is the remaining hardware. The switch body has a rear cover that acts to capture the 4 side doors and keep them from falling out. They provided 4 M5-.8×40 socket head cap screws (and matching nylok nuts) that fit the holes in the corners and are for mounting the switch. Oddly, the underside of the switch has recessed holes with a hex shape molded in – assumable that these are to capture the hex nuts? However, the nuts are smaller than the molded hex – hmm.
Only thing I can think is that they intend that you feed the screw through the body and bottom cover, then through the mounting board, etc. then use the nylok nut. If that is the case, the included hardware would allow mounting to a surface up to 1/2″ thick. Anything thicker, you would have to counterbore the hole to recess the nylok nut, in which case I would add a flat washer.
Overall, the switch is going in my cargo trailer solar build as the main battery cutoff. My only knock against it is that the knob rotates clockwise to turn on and counterclockwise to the off position. However, you can actually turn it again, past off, at which point the knob will come off in your hand. Definitely designed this way. I’m just concerned that someone may accidentally turn it too far (or the wrong way) and the knob falls off and gets lost.

I am using this as the main disconnect in my DIY solar power bank. The switch is well made of sturdy plastic with large lugs for the wires. The knob turns smoothly and clicks into position. I cut a round hole for the knob and mounted it from the inside of the box in order to keep a low profile on the outside. It is working well so far and I’ve already ordered another.

I’m using this breaker switch not for my battery but rather for a relay connection that I made it’s very simple. It’s very effective and I was able to install it in no time with the wires that I had if you’re using this for your battery disconnect that’s also very satisfying and satisfactory and it works just as well, but I took away the extra parts and I just use as a as a disconnect switch for a relay that I had in my. The set up was easy very quick to install, and the clicks were very satisfying, knowing that I was connected or disconnected at any given time there is a little green sticker that shows when you are connected and it’s switched off when you’re disconnected overall I’m very satisfied with this product. The installation was easy and it was very effective.
