Product arrived on time and well protected. Installed this item in less than 30 min on my 08 Acura TL type s. Works great but won’t lower down automatically when you leave the switch press.

Instructions could have been better but Youtube had a few videos showing installation procedure. Removing the old part was the most difficult as failed in the closed position resulting in having to cut the steel cable to drop the window. Once removed however, the Dorman part was simple to install and fitted perfectly. Very pleased with the result.

The regulator fits perfectly (2004 Acura TL) and works like a charm. I read a lot of reviewers complain about the “auto” feature. The problem has nothing to do with the regulator, since it’s only a motor.
The car’s processor has to be calibrated for the upper and lower position of the window. The following is the procedure:
1) Turn the ignition key to accessories (power on the radio and dashboard).
2) Hold the switch for the up position and count to 2 or 3 (may vary for other manufacturers) then release.
3) Hold the lower position switch down until the window stops and hold it down for another 3 count then release.
That should do it.
Repeat if it doesn’t work the first time, first turning off the power and follow the procedure again.
Another advice when installing is if the regulator motor is seized in the upper position, cut one of the 2 thick transport Cables (not the power cables please); that should help you lower the window half-way (with someone holding the glass) till you can see the screws that attach the glass to the regulator from two access holes in the door panel frame.

I installed this window regulator on my 2005 Acura TL. The OEM regulator broke apart inside the door. It looks like the Dorman unit addresses problems with the OEM design, so I decided to give it a try for half the cost of an OEM unit. The install was easy and everything lined up well. The speed and noise from the motor is the same as OEM as far as I could tell. The auto-up and auto-down feature did not work for me at first. I emailed Dorman about it and they sent me a “relearn” procedure to follow. I didn’t get around to doing it for a couple days, then I noticed that the auto-up/down just started working on its own. I have attached the relearn procedure for everyone. Don’t forget to make sure you reattach the vapor barrier (white plastic sheet) well or you will get water coming inside the car. Sometimes the original sealant is still pliable and tacky enough to reuse, but its safest to buy some 1/4″ butyl rope and stick that on there. You don’t need much of it, you can stretch it to make it a little thinner. You can find it at hardware stores.

Rolled my window down. Wouldn’t roll back up. I could hear the motor when I pressed the window button, but no action.
OEM was 177.00 I think. Auto parts store quoted 133.00. got this product in one day.
So far so good. Fits perfectly. Took awhile to get the old one out. Install was fast and easy though. Works great so far. Would recommend to anyone needing to fix their window.
Update: Window would not use the auto up and down function for a day. The auto function just kicked in a day after installation. I think I read this from another review.

The window lift this unit replaced was broken and I took it out in parts. This lift was a perfect fit and easily placed into the door. The installation was simple, and all of the screws from the previous window lift perfectly. Once installed, the lift worked perfectly. Perfect lift, easy install.
