I purchased a second WIX filter for my 2015 RAM 3500. I did the retrofit to allow the installation of a filter. The WIX filter I pulled was full of dust and debris after about 4000 miles. My impression is that the filter did a great job. I’m not sure if this carbon impregnated version restricts air flow to a greater extent, but any high efficiency filter restricts air flow to some extent. I’d rather get the added filtration.

Put a cabin air filter in my 2011 Ram 3500 truck, using a Chrysler Avenger cover part. Truck did not come from the factory with a cabin filter. Had a difficult time finding a replacement filter that fit correctly. This filter fit perfectly, was a great price and slipped right in. I ordered two more just in case. Is a lot more sturdier and has more surface pleats than the filter I replaced it with.

I cut the heater box and installed in our 2014 ram that did not have one from the factory. Works well. Only reduces air slightly but is a fair trade off if you suffer from allergies. It seems to keep the dust inside the truck slightly down as well.

Five stars for being what it is supposed to be; a filter. It does it’s job.
This filter can be used in the Ram truck cabin air modification. The filter looks dirty but it is not; the dark color is the charcoal in the filter paper.
Ram stopped putting the cabin filter in the trucks in 2010 but it can be added by the owner by purchasing the filter and air filter door, also on Amazon.
The modification is simple, but somewhat awkward as it up under the dash and behind the lower glove box door. There is a plastic area to be cut out using a utility/box cutter, Dremel, solder gun with knife blade, or similar. The filter will go into the air box and the door snaps into place.
Recommend going to youtube and search for ‘Ram cabin filter mod’ and will be several videos showing exactly how it is done.
The addition of the filter will reduce the air flow but not much. The fan is more than powerful enough to cool or heat the truck cabin when needed.

Fits exactly as described. I used this to retrofit a cabin air filter on my 4th Generation Ram 1500. Not sure why they decided to not put one in from factory, but it’s a super easy mod. You will also need a Genuine Chrysler 68052292AA Air Conditioning Filter Access Door.
Some reviewers said this filter had an awful smell. Mine did not, Wix is known for making high quality products I would buy it again.

Bought this for my 2014 Ram Truck along with a door since Ram is too cheap to put them in from the factory. It fit correctly and is of typical design and quality. No really instructions other than which side is up but that can be a bit confusing for the untrained eye.
