It was not as hard to install in my 2006 CRV as the inter-webs made it out to be however it was not super easy either. The part fixed my problem and after a few hundred miles seems to be solid although time will tell. To me this makes it a good value for the money considering what it costs for a mechanic to change out the part. It was half the price of OEM which don’t get great reviews. This one is the one you need!

As with many parts I have been fixing on my aging Honda Element just getting to them is the hardest thing. This was probably one of the biggest PITA jobs. If the sensor was accessible it would be an under 5 minute job, but it is not. You can get to it from below on an Element, it’s deep up in there. A 1-1/16″ long open end combo wrench is the tool you need, the slimmer the better. All you need is to crack it loose and it you should be able to finger turn it off. The sensor connector is a little tough but other reviewers have provided some useful pictures to visualize it. Cleaning the wire terminal contacts before re-installing is a good thing. It is rough just getting the exact right position to get you hand up in there and get it started. I wrapped some painters tape around the plastic terminal to give a little more grip and length to manipulate it up in there. Look at it, visualize it then close your eyes and feel it in. A mechanics dolly really helps too while you are wiggling around trying to get in position. Had I thought about this sensor when I was changing my starter a few years ago I would have changed it then as preventative maintenance. When I did that job I went in from the top and pulled the manifold, again took longer to just get to the part then actually changing the part. As far as this brand, I have used other parts from them in the past with good results. It was about a third of the cost of Honda original and there were other brands that were even cheaper, a little too cheap I think. Beck Arnley stuff seems to get good reviews on Amazon as well as other car part sites.

Hi Amazon! Just thought I would post a good review regarding this knock sensor.I have always trusted Beck Arnley parts .I buy all good parts for my 2004 Honda CRV. 186000 miles and still drives new. I thought with this review that I would give back to the Amazon Community as they have for me .So I have a couple of pointers for any newbies out there trying to do the work themselves for i am a newbie as well . 1 Spray electrical clip real good with electrical cleaner before attempting to seprate it from old K sensor 2 Clean inside of connector before you reconnect new K sensor with electrical cleaner spray . 3 Dont tighten new K sensor anymore than you would on a mountain bike tire “nice and tightly snug” The job took me about an hour and a half and I used the wrench you see in my pics.The thing is If you have a smaller hand then you can reach up in between manifold and starter and unscrew the old knock sensor after you get it loose .I used my left hand after i got it loose with my feet on the drivers side front tire for leverage to kind of push my body up to get my arm up there. The car was on jack stands too and Im a little short LOL. The reason I am explaining this is because for some damn reason I couldnt get my right arm up there at all. And at some points and other positions when I was in under the car I didnt think that it was even possible to take the old knock sensor out by hand!! So keep that in mind If your trying to do this yourself. I heard a lot of online stories that say when you have a knock sensor code it could be anything else but the knock sensor because “Knock Sensors Rarely Go Bad On These Hondas” I say BULL change the sensor and you will see check engine light gone So I hope I helped someone out there to do there own work and save the money you would be paying some mechanic whose trying to take a nice vacation with your hard earned money. Or charging you a $100 bucks for a job they can do in 5 minutes. Its a shame what businesses in general charge people these days .REMEMBER What you KNOW no one can ever take from you . And knowing is believing .Have faith my brothers and sisters and KNOW …GB….

I purchased this knock sensor in 2018 but did not install it until recently when I had to remove the intake manifold on my 2002 CRV in order to install a new starter motor. I had previously had a P0325 knock sensor code which had constantly turned on the Check Engine Light. No affects to engine driveability seen when this code was set
Installation was easy since the intake manifold was removed. I also replaced the PCV valve while it was easily accessible.
Code was cleared after everything was put back together and no more engine light.

Had the error code appear, I would clear it with my OBDII dongle but it kept coming back. Also noticed a lack of power from the engine. I am told the Engine knock sensor affects ignition timing if it is defective.
I watched the Youtube videos for my specific car model and had the job done in 30 minutes. If you are a Honda Accord owner no need to take apart the manifold. Watch the Youtube videos which show you how to go under the manifold to install it. Worked great for me, but you need steady hands and long tools.

. WORD OF ADVICE ! DO not buy any of those cheap 10 15 20$ knock sensors you see for sale all over the place.. they do not work …. Or in my case It worked for 1 day. Next day CIL came back on. Code was showing faulty knock sensor…. I finally ordered this beck arnley and all is good. CIL is off and it’s been over 2 weeks now. Btw I have a 2005 Honda accord ex 2.5 coupe. So far so good.
