-wire length is not enough if you place mount to the left side of windscreen, need to use extender for proper wiring

This review is only for Samung Galaxy users, specifically the S24+, attempting to use this with a MagFit ring plate added to your case.
As I said, I use a Samsung Galaxy 24+ that I added a Spigen MagFit Ring Plate to the back of my case (also Spigen). I loved the idea of using magnetic wireless, especially in my car, but elsewhere as well. I think I have tried every accessory Spigen offers for MagFit. Well, not really, but feels like it. I hope to review them all and let you know how they worked, or didn’t work, for me. That said, I’m rating nearly all of them 4 stars. Sometimes because they worked, sometimes because they didn’t but the products seem well made. I’ve used Spigen cases in the past and always been happy, so I’m giving them the benefit of doubt.
I really wanted to like this car charger. I had purchased the Spigen dashboard car mount with a Spigen charger (the ArcField that looks like the Apple MagSafe – all black). It worked, but seemed to charge really slow (I’ve since solved this, I had it in a low output jack). My dashboard however doesn’t have a truly flat surface so I wasn’t sure how long it would hold. I was also having issues seeing small bits on my phone – I’m nearsighted and this was just past the range of my glass for small things. I liked that this charger had a much longer arm allowing me to put it on the latest surface I do have and reach it closer to me. However, it did not charge my phone. Well, it did for about 20 seconds, then it would just stop. I tried several times, different outlets and different adapters. Always the same, after a short bit, it would stop. This was not due to the setting on Samsung to only charge the phone so much (battery saver function), it was the charger. My original set up (car mount with the flat charger) worked better, so I just moved it closer.

Don’t get this charger. I really liked it for the first month but as soon as spring came and we had our first 70 degree day, the adhesive melted and wouldn’t stick together. About 2 weeks after the return window too. Very expensive for a phone charger I could only use for 2 months.

I like the design, materials, amount of magnet force. It’s sturdy, I never felt like my phone will fall. The only problem I have with this is it OVERHEATS A LOT. It will charge for a couple minutes and stops charging since it overheats. I even have window tints that can cool down the inside cabin of my car but it doesn’t help. It was frustrating since I would think it was charging then after my drive, my battery was actually draining. It probably needs some sort of cooling inside or something. Maybe a better heatsink? Just something to help manage overheating. This experience is around springtime so not even during summertime. I ultimately returned it and bought the non-MagSafe version.

I recently switch all my chargers to MagSafe and I will say this one is my fav. Hold phone really well in place and charges. A bit slow but for a long trip you can make sure it’s charged when you get there. I like to have my phone on the drivers side left vent for ease of view and not blocking sight out the middle. I also like to have a clean look with out cords dangling all over. I’ve hidden it within the dash. I do recommend that if you want to do this yourself you also purchase a 3’ usb c female to usb extension since the length of travel was short by a few inches on my 2010 Toyota Prius. Over all I’m super happy with this upgrade. Just place your phone on the MagSafe charger and go.
