These Mag Safe car mounts are great at holding my phone in place via my air vent. I can’t believe how well built they are. They are not cheap and tighten with a grip and a turn. Most of the old ones didn’t stay in place when you hit a bump. These do. Not only do they stay sturdy after a bump, but there’s not rattling of my phone as I’m driving. The Mag Safe magnet holds my iPhone 16 Pro Max like it was specifically made for the phone. These are definitely worth the money and I highly recommend them!

Executive Summary:
It’s a great little car mount with two mounting options. It feels sturdy with a powerful magnet that seems like it would hold a phone nicely. The flat surface stand is not suitable as a desktop stand and take care with the mounting options as they can damage the mount points if care is not taken.
TLDR;
I got this for the flat surface mount because I’ve had others in the past that were tall enough they served well as a permanent magnetic fixture on my desk to attach my phone too. Unfortunately, this unit was not designed like those, contrary to what it looked like the pictures were showing. The flat surface mount is way too short to act as a viable desk stand. It was meant for the shelf of a dashboard of an auto and that’s really the only place it’s going to work unless one wants a phone hanging off the edge of a desk (I don’t).
On a dashboard, however, it works great. The angle and height are perfect for suspending a phone off the edge of the dashboard. The head is secured with a nut that can be tightened enough to lock the head securely in place and loosened easily enough to make the adjusting the head an easy task. No tools are necessary for installation or assembly.
The magnetics are super strong which should convey confidence in the stand’s ability to keep a lock on your phone through the bumps and bounces of auto travel. It works well with my MagSafe case as well, although the kit came with a magnetic mounting ring of its own in the event that an in-use case is not MagSafe compatible.
The kit came with two mounting options, the flat surface stand and an air vent clip. The magnetic head fits both of the mounting options but only one head is provided in a kit, so the it’s meant to be used in one way or the other but not both. Keep in mind that the vent clip is the only mount that’s truly removable. While I haven’t stuck the flat surface clip to anything yet, from my preliminary pokes and prods and the label over the adhesive, it’s 3M automotive adhesive which typically adheres and then takes 24 hours or so to set and once it’s set, it does not unset easily. So whatever it’s mounted on, the plan should be leave it there, otherwise one might take off part of the surface material of the mount point in the process. Also, take care with the vent clip as well. That mount works via a telescoping hook that runs out the back of the mount and is intended to hook onto one of the dashboard vent slats that are part of the air conditioning system. Once the hook is on one of the plastic slats, it is then retracted via a large knob on the mount (the same one used to extend it), which secures the apparatus by pulling the hook in and seating the mount on the vent slat. It’s a good system and a solid mount, but it would be very easy, with the size of the actuator knob, to become over zealous with retracting the hook, thereby pulling it in too tight and possibly damaging the vent slat. Just something to keep in mind.
Most of the kit is plastic (save for magnetic mounting ring and magnets, of course) but it’s very thick and has the appearance of ABS or PVC plastic. It feels like it could take a bit of punishment. When I was assembling the mounts, I really ratcheted down the securing nut on the head to see if I could break it but it held under all the hand tight pressure I could put it under, so I suspect it can hold its own in a throwdown.
At the end of the day, it’s a great little kit with a great stand and solid mounting options. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and it does it well. If you’re looking for an inexpensive mount for your phone that’s easily assembled, easy to mount, and holds your phone securely, this is should be your new toy.

Both mounts were easy to install and were very secure. Magnets are very strong and my phone hasn’t come off yet and I don’t think it will. I ended up using the mount with a longer arm since you can move your cell phone away from the vent. No need to blast the phone with hot air. Phone orientation is easy to adjust and can be locked into place.

I put these in my work van. It is a pretty bumpy ride. I have to retighten the mount ever week or so to prevent it from falling out. In a vehicle with a decent suspension, I suspect you wouldn’t have to tighten it near a soften, if at all.

The replacement for this item was received on time and most of all the part are there except for the metal adhesive ring for the car phone holders not found in package after opening. I need the metal rings for the car holder in order to mount my phone on the holder. How can I get the missing metal adhesive rings?

This phone mount is a great deal/value for 2. I was able to use one in my car and one in my boyfriend’s. Both attach to the car vents easily and securely. The magnet strength works well with the provided rings, but not sure how it would work with a magnetic case.
