I was a bit skeptical about ordering this cabin filter, but upon close examination, I’m really happy with the quality, especially for the very competitive price.
The cabin filter is often overlooked, but it’s usually really easy to replace and is VERY easy to replace on MK7 – MK8 Volkswagens – pretty much push-button hooks to fully open the glove-box and then several plastic latches on the filter cover behind the glovebox.
The HANN & CO filter that I received fits many VW and Audi models and has 31 pleats compared to the original VW’s 29. The overall quality feel is great. I’m not a laboratory, so I can’t measure if the filtered particles meet HEPA specifications, but it does do a good job of filtering out dust and smoke from outside the car. It definitely is impregnated with activated carbon, meeting the specs of the higher-end Golfs, GTIs, and Golf-R, etc. and exceeding the specs of the models that don’t have the activated carbon, making it a nice upgrade. I’ve included photos comparing a new filter from the dealer to this HANN replacement. The price is also very attractive.

I’m always a little apprehensive about buying “compatible” consumables because of fit and finish, but this one is pretty darn good.
It fit perfectly in the cabin filter area of my car and that is already half the battle. The filter itself seems to be embedded with active charcoal which should not only filter out pollen but odors and other contaminants from the air.
Does your AC smell weird? Maybe you should think about changing out your cabin filter!

This fit perfectly in my Tiguan to replace the dirty OEM pollen filter. The filter was packaged well and the filter itself appears to be of high quality to my eyes (comparing to the dirty one I replaced it with it does appear to have better filter material). I make it a habit to replace these every spring and fall and this HANN&CO filter was the perfect fit and looks like it will do a great job.

This seems to be a great choice for a replacement cabin filter for VW Sportwagens (at least a 2017 model). Dimensions are virtually the same. If you’ve never replaced a cabin filter, it’s very easy. So save yourself the money and do it yourself!
This filter is a really good value at under $10. I’ve never had a silver ion filter, so I’m not sure that I’ll notice any difference because of that. But I’ve used activated carbon filters in the past, and I think they do a little better at mitigation of odors, which may also mean that they filter out smaller particles.
